HR Data Analyst
Las Vegas Sands Corp. Las Vegas, Nevada
Full-time Position


The primary responsibility of the HR Data Analyst is to provide solutions, analytic observations and business recommendations, and reports on HR metrics to assist line and HR management in assessing the effectiveness of people management practices, including: recruiting, employee relations, performance management, retention, turnover, talent management, mobility, career progression, etc.

This position will help drive business decisions by providing pro-active, consistent, actionable analysis to HR leadership. This role will analyze trends in various business units with a focus on workforce planning, scenario planning and modeling using Excel.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provide KPIs, dashboards and deeper insights into HR trends to our Executives and Business Leaders by tapping directly into our data sources using a combination SQL, Hive, Pig, Python, Java.
Develop predictive models for attrition, high performance, and recruiting demand.
Develop and optimize HR reports to drive meaningful business results. Execute advanced and predictive analytics (regression, multilevel, factor, decision tree and longitudinal analysis)
Analyze trends relating to headcount, attrition.
Provide reporting required to make HR decisions to optimize resources. Summarize written findings and publish results, including graphs, charts and tables. Identify trends and factors.
Identify ways to streamline modeling and reporting by recommending items for automation, re-structuring or elimination
Engage with internal technology partners to prototype and validate tools developed in-house for near-real-time processing of very large data sets.
Investigate data errors, construct queries to correct affected data sets and keep stakeholders apprised of progress by planning and tracking tasks using Agile methodologies.
Strong interest in working with Big Data, and making it accessible for the broader organization.
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems in excel, Access and Power BI.
Manage monthly Human Resources P&L

Key Processes

Frame business problems into questions that can be answered through data analysis, and translate business needs into requirements that can be understood by technical teams.
Determine appropriate experiments, data, and analyses as needed.
Conduct data mining to understand user behavior.
Monitor data quality and product innovations.
Ensure that results are presented in ways that engineering and business colleagues can understand and act upon.
Turn data into insight – segment, cluster, model, and mine to better understand the behavior in question. Explain what’s happened or predict what will in an actionable fashion.
Technical expertise regarding data models, database development & maintenance, data mining and segmentation techniques.
Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job
Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications / Experience

21 years of age
Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience, including data abstraction, database management, and data analysis and reporting.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and/or considerable related experience in Human Resources systems analysis and computer systems applications or Master’s Degree in related field preferred.
Experience and proficiency in VBA, R, Tableau and/or Python coding is preferred.
Experience with SQL, Power BI and Tibco Spotfire- Data Visualization tool is a must.
Experience with R or other statistical package.
MS SharePoint, Access, Excel and Power Point advanced skill level.
Experience in HR SaaS is preferred.
Excellent time management skills and ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to choose between competing technology solutions to find the right solution for the problem at hand. The ideal candidate will approach all problems with a holistic view toward future enhancements, ease of maintainability and leverage of emerging technologies.
This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to our senior executives who are data-driven decision makers. Complex technical issues, actionable recommendations and their business impact must be stated concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Must be a self-starter who can work independently as well as a member of a team. Must be motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment to develop and track metrics for company-wide and constructively accepting input from diverse stakeholders across the organization.
